Many people are interested in improving quality of life for the Handicap & Disabled.
1) Handicapped persons are the center of our concern.
2) We must build a community where we all recognize our own handicaps.
3) There are rules for properly relating and dealing with Handicapped people.
--Jean Vanier and Henri Nouwen both articlulated this vision--Henri in his book "Adam God's Beloved".
This Stewardship Campaign will build on the Retreat for Open Ties that was organized and held at Walsh University, Ohio in September (2016) and the preceding lecture introducing Open Ties as a Global Cooperation Platform project given there by Gus Zuehlke earlier in 2016. The recent developments of the Open Ties project where inspired much by the peace work of Gus Zuehlke who organized a retreat back in 2015 called “Healing America's Wounds: A Moral Vision of Reconciliation.”
Tom Marentette, one of the participants in that Peace Retreat wrote:
Through the dialog centered on peace and reconciliation, with topics such as race relations in the United States to peace-building in northern Uganda to Palestinian-Israeli relations in the Middle East ….so many of the conversations were so deeply personal and touching, that I prefer not to share them here. But know this, it seems at every impasse or solution, we focused on common ground and our collective and shared humanity. We are all brothers and sisters on this big blue ball hurtling through space, and I think if we can all focus on our shared humanity we may all just get along a little better. I learned a lot about forgiveness and the enormous capacity for human beings to forgive violence and deep pain and suffering on a scale I could never imagine.
Bill Street as the main Point of Trust in the Quad Joy Circle of Interest has agreed to participate in this Open Stewardship Campaign as part of their mission. The Quad Joy Outreach serves the families of people who have a paralyzed or disabled loved one that suddenly, tragically, or unexpectedly suffered loss of physical mobility, by providing them with a technology device capable of enabling the recipient to reengage with Life through an extremely sophisticated mouth operated puff-n-sip joystick device. Bill Street has accepted the plan to cooperate in an Open Stewardship capacity with other Points of Trust interested in supporting the Ecology Impact Narrative of this Campaign.
People who have suffered tragic events that leave them paralyzed and/or crippled face tremendous despair in many ways through: Loss of life enjoyment, loss of function, loss of health, loss of relationships, loss of livelihood, loss of purpose, loss of community, loss of hope, loss of interest in living, loss of faith, loss of self-worth and much more.
The establishment of this Venture is planned to occur in 2019. Outreach Initiatives are under development.
Impact Regions: North America, Australia, Ireland.
Impact Costs:
We want to welcome anyone interested in supporting this Open Stewardship Campaign, and Outreach Initiatives, who cares to extend Ecology of Life Impact to those that are disabled, handicap or paralyzed. We are hoping to coordinate cooperation with diverse Circles of Interest.
